MTCCA and MMTCTA IF&W Working Group
August 29, 2006
Attendance: IF&W Staff – Bill Swan, Sue Connors & Dale Freise, MMTCTA – Vera Parent and MTCCA – Deanna Hallett & John Myers
Questions, Requests & Remarks from Agents: (John's Notes) (Bill's Notes)
This is a possibility with a software change printing a block that could be filled in by the agent. In the meantime an agent could write the total on a registration. Also, if you print a MOSES receipt for the customer (and they keep it), it will have this info on it as well.
Boat registration fees are set by the State Legislature and not the Department. Fees were increased last year. No change is expected for 2007.
IF&W is looking into the possibility of agents having the ability to be able to void milfoil stickers. It would not be automatic with the voiding of a boat registration. It would be a separate transaction.
This might be an option sometime down the road.
Not currently, but in the plans for the future.
The color will print on a registration when entered. New registrations are prompted to enter the color. The color can be entered in re-registrations, but the system does not require the information.
Customers must display only the current year's stickers, only one year at a time. The new stickers should be placed over the old stickers. One sticker placed on the front of the ATV and one on the back in clear view for any Warden to see. Instructions for the customer regarding the placement of ATV stickers are located on the back side of the stickers.
This could be done sometime in the future, but for now the customer should carry and use the newest license. The use of a prior license number when applying for a permit will not be an issue for a Warden. The customer only needs to show that they have a valid license. The license number does not need to match the permit. Permits are no longer drawn by license number. This was changed several years ago. It does not matter what license number a customer applies for a permit with, as long as it is a valid hunting license number.
Per TRIO, it's now in the in-house testing phase and could be released by year end to clients.
No, but IF&W is willing to work with any software company. Call your company directly and have them contact Bill Swan at IF&W for the specs or contact Bill and he will call the vendor.
Other Notes:
Dale Freise is in charge of the MOSES hotline and all training.
Sue Connors is in charge of Manual Packets, Returns and Distributions.
Donna Hall has transferred to another State agency and Vesta Billings is filling in until a replacement is hired.
The new servers should be installed and up and running in September.
The MOSES September License Only Training Cass is full, but there is another class scheduled for October 12 & 13 in Lewiston with openings. Contact Dale Freise at dale.freise@maine.org if interested.
IF&W would prefer to have a training schedule for six months ahead, but the schools are not able to commit to a schedule that far ahead.
Agents will be able to start selling 2007 licenses on December 1 st of 2006 (Manual Licenses and Licenses in MOSES).
The next IF&W Working Group meeting is tentatively set for Tuesday, December 5, 2006, 2 PM at IF&W in Augusta .
