Posted by Teri Dane, Ellsworth, November 10, 2008I was wondering if I could get some information on what payroll software your City/Town uses, and whether or not you recommend it.  We are looking into possibly changing ours and I wanted to get some idea of what is out there.

Responses:In Brownville, we use the payroll component of Trio (Harris).  It isn't all that bad…I'm learning that every system has both good and bad characteristics. (Sophie Wilson, Brownville)

In Wells we use the payroll component of Munis.  It works fine.  I agree that they all have good and bad points. (Dori Randall, Wells)

We also use MUNIS (Tyler Technologies) in Saco.  I agree that there are pros and cons as compared to other systems.  On a positive note, MUNIS is currently pursuing a research project on payroll processing trends and usage patterns to enable them to improve service and functionality within the payroll module.  We'll see what transpires from the research.
