Posted by Darlene Beaulieu, Manchester, November 19, 2009:I am preparing foreclosure notices when I found a Federal Tax Lien.  The individual who did the research was unable to get an address for me to send the notice.  Does anyone have an address for the IRS for that purpose only?  I did call an 800 number, but obviously there is no one in the office today because the automated system came on and while I push multiple extension numbers to get a live person I was disconnected.  Hmmm, how interesting is that?

Responses:

Here is the information that I received.

The address is:

Internal Revenue Service
Special Procedures Function
P.O. Box 9112 Stop 20800
JFK Post Office
Boston, MA 02003

You must also send  a Notice of Nonjudicial Sale Under Statutory Lien 26 USC § 7425, which can be found in the Municipal Lien Manual on page 3-4 of the appendices .
